Introduction The
Alumni Association of Pub Kamrup College is yet to attain maturity. But an
executive committee of the association is constituted with 33 members
including three office bearers in the general meeting of the Alumni held on
21/8/2002 to design necessary steps and bring together all alumni of the
college under one umbrella to give concrete shape to the Alumni Association.
Aims
The Alumni Association of Pub Kamrup College aims at encouraging interaction
between past and present student members of the college community to evolve
ways and means for all-round development of the college.
Objectives
To
make the members of the Alumni Association responsive to the institution they
studied and to the society as well.
To generate resources from the Alumni to be utilized for the development of the
college.
To urge the Alumni association to instill moral values and development of the
society and to create to the best of their abilities mutual understanding,
ideals of fraternity, secularism, democracy irrespective of caste, creed,
religion and sex amongst the members of the Alumni and neibouring societies.
To invite suggestions on academic matters of the college from the members of the
Alumni.
To encourage registration of more and more alumni members to materialize the
objectives of the association as far as practicable.
To register the names of Alumni, a printed format will be supplied to them to have
all their bio-data.
Contact Centre, PGCS, G.U.
The Post Graduate Correspondence School, GU proposed to open contact centers at various
cities/towns, district head quarters of Assam and NE Region from January, 2003.
The centre will be located in Universities, colleges or institutions of high
repute of the locality.
The contact centres will be authorized to admit students on behalf of the PGCS, GU
from January, 2003 and to hold examinations if the number of candidates are
adequate.
Membership
The Alumni Association of Pub Kamrup College will have two categories of members,
viz. (a) Registered members and (b) Non-registered members.
All ex-students of Pub Kamrup College are eligible for its membership.
To be a registered member of the Association, an amount of Rs.100/- (Rupees one
hundred) is fixed for the purpose.
However, the registration fee of Rs.100/- may be relaxed in cases of the Alumni
considering their economic condition.
Executive Committee
The functions of the Alumni Association will be managed by a representative body
known as the Executive Committee consisting of 33 members.
